House progress

Last week we finally passed the city electrical inspection, then the structural inspection, and finally the insulation inspection, woohoo! This means that we got clearance to start putting up wallboard! When I say “we” I mean that I’m extremely grateful for the paid professionals who are doing the work this time. Lots of DIY experience has made me very grateful that we’re able to hire pros this time around!

Fresh new wallboard in the kitchen
And now we have wallboard in the kitchen too!

Sadly we don’t have any WINDOWS yet, because the Anderson “dealer” took our money in September and then didn’t get around to ordering our windows until early January. Even though they originally promised delivery in December. We called and asked about the windows many times and they assured us that they were ordered and blamed the factory for delays. We finally called Anderson directly and found that the window order went in early January so they should be here in March. Super frustrating but this whole process has been a lesson in being patient when things don’t go to schedule, so. Here we are, it’ll all get finished eventually, and we’ll be so grateful when it’s all over. (And we definitely won’t do business with those guys again!)
